Ethics & Decision Making for Financial Advisers is a half-day workshop that provides relevant and contemporary knowledge about applied ethics – tailored to the financial advice industry. You will gain insights into how to make quality decisions, learn about how biases impact choices and how to promote an ethical culture within your workplace.

Is this workshop right for you?

This workshop is designed for financial advisers and those working in the financial services industry.

The workshop will help you become familiar with the new FASEA Code of Ethics, enabling you to meet 3.5 hours of your annual professionalism and ethics CPD requirements. You will leave better equipped to make ethical decisions and work through difficult issues. At a personal level, the space for ethical reflection will help you be consistent in your judgements, understand the reasons for your beliefs and critically examine your own and others’ perspectives.

What will you learn?


Ethics & Decision Making for Financial Advisers delivers relevant and contemporary knowledge about applied ethics that is both practical and easy to put into action. The workshop will provide the tools and techniques to work through the difficult ethical challenges you face in your industry.

Upon completion of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Recognise the importance of an ethical framework – purpose, values and principles

  • Appreciate the importance of the FASEA Code of Ethics, including the values and standards

  • Discover your own ethical decision making style

  • Recognise common biases that appear in the workplace and how to mitigate them

  • Consider and learn to navigate typical ethical dilemmas that face financial adviser
