Description

Put your interest in engaging with industry into action – find out how you can set up an industry linked project.

Many research projects include some interaction with industry, and your career may well involve forming university industry linkages. In this course we commence by discussing the different drivers between university and industry research, and explore how we can adapt to ensure successful outcomes. We will present ways of initiating industry projects, study design, scoping the project, identifying costs and setting suitable prices. An introduction to the research contract will focus on key areas of intellectual property, publication, liability, and milestones. After this full one hour session students will take away a good understanding of industry project requirements and how to source university services to assist when industry opportunities arise.

Speaker: Greg MacPherson, Business Partnership Specialist, Research & Business Partnerships

Greg has a background in the marketing of technology and is passionate about forming lucrative partnerships between university researchers and industry & government. Currently he assists research groups and early stage business teams to develop their innovations and ideas.
