About this event
Research is confirming what we have all known for a long time - nature has a profound effect on our wellbeing.
But it has to be more than just a walk in the park.
To access nature's health benefits, research shows that the types of activities we do in nature matter more than the amount of time spent. The more meaningful the moment the more profound the benefits.
Waminda Parker, Director of The Connective, will unpack what this means to educators. The meeting will cover:
- What is a nature wellness trail
- What are the benefits to students of a nature wellness trail
- Examples of trails in the eastern suburbs
- Guided tour of the new trail at Randwick Sustainability Hub
This meeting is for primary and high school teachers, but will also be highly relevant for early learning centres.
Claim on hour of teacher professional learning for attending this meeting.
