An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation. The most important habit I’ve formed in the last 10 years of forming habits is meditation, learning to break the habit of excess thinking. By engaging with a particular meditation practice, you learn to observe patterns and habits of your mind, reactions and responses. You begin to dis identify with the dysfunction of your mental concepts, judgement and negative thought patterns. The practice of meditation offers a means to cultivate new, more positive ways of being through awareness of life. In the mindfulness of breathing meditation practice we use the breath as an object of awareness. We follow the physical sensations of the breath as it flows in and out of the body.
