Event description

Description

This two hour workshop, hosted by the Hawkesbury Police Area Command will assist with empowering women to take control online and combat technology facilitated abuse. eSafetyWomen was developed as part of the Australian Government’s Women’s Safety Package to Stop the Violence. This free seminar will be facilitated by staff from the Office of eSafety Commissioner and is designed for front line government and non-government agencies that have a role in the community in dealing with domestic violence.

The Office of the eSafety Commissioner and WESNET workshop is designed for frontline, specialist and support staff in the domestic violence sector. The workshops raise awareness of technology-facilitated abuse and provide staff with up-to-date skills and knowledge to support women and families.

Frontline service providers will increase their knowledge of technology-facilitated abuse while our experienced facilitator shares stories, current information and advice on topics such as:

  • online harassment, stalking and intimidation
  • the use of tracking devices
  • privacy and security settings
  • an introduction to eSafetyWomen resources
  • how to use technology safely
