Shannan Gove (27) is the Co-founder of Event Workforce Group (EWG), currently holding contracts with some of the world’s biggest events including the Superbowl, Tough Mudder globally and the World Masters Games in New Zealand. Shannan graduated from Deakin after studying Commerce - Sports Managment and Marketing.
Shannan will be sharing the journey from the university dorm room to building a scalable global business in the sports and events world. Shannan will focus on the early days of building a business, the challenges we faced and the importance on always challenging the ordinary.
EWG is a national event placement and workforce technology business. Over the past 5 years EW’s staffing arm has grown to become Australia's leading placement agency of Generation Y into the events, sport and entertainment industry, creating over 15,000 individual opportunities for their motivated, hard working “Workforcers”. It was through these placements’ that EW Groups workforce management software “Rosterfy” was born.
With a passion for all things sports, events and business, Shannan’s big hairy audacious goal for EW Group is to become the world’s leading event workforce solution business.

SPARK@Deakin is an experiential program designed to give students, staff and alumni an opportunity to see and relate to the early stages of the entrepreneurial path. The program includes an opportunity to pitch for up to $20 000 funding, mentorship and office space as well as a serious of entrepreneurial events, focusing on educating and training aspirant entrepreneurs regarding how to approach a project from a commercial perspective.
