Train the Trainer: Enhancing Training Skills for Home Care Professionals

🌟 Is training only a small part of your role , yet critical to getting practice right under Support at Home?

Delivering engaging and effective training can be challenging when it’s not your primary responsibility. Under the Support at Home Program, training is no longer just about information sharing, it is a key mechanism for building capability, consistency, and confidence across the workforce in a more accountable and outcomes-focused care environment. It is also a great skill to have for future employment opportunities.

The Strengthened Standards clearly outline the changes required to demonstrate that workers have the necessary skills to do their job. Providers will need to demonstrate that training is effective and not just a ‘tick box’ exercise. On-line learning modules will no longer be the only mode of learning. Face-to-face training is back with ‘bells on’!

While access to training content has never been easier, the real skill lies in how training is delivered. Under Support at Home, care partners, clinicians, and frontline workers must clearly understand their roles, responsibilities, scope of practice, and documentation expectations. This makes effective communication, engagement, and practical application essential.

In a sector where individualised care, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes are central, training must translate policy and standards into everyday practice, not just meet mandatory requirements.

This event is designed to address these challenges head-on, equipping you with practical tools, techniques, and confidence to deliver training that resonates and drives real change in practice. At LPA, we are known for delivering engaging, sector-relevant training, and in this session we will share the strategies that underpin our approach.

When it comes to online training, we know that staring into the “virtual classroom” can sometimes miss those moments that face-to-face events deliver. So, we are mixing things up. In a time of transformation in the sector, we want to make sure now, more than ever, that you are being supported. We will be focusing even more on interactive, immersive training sessions (think break-out rooms, cameras on (yes scary), opportunities to network, and of course, maintaining the LPA way of tangible tools and resources).
