Engaging WA Uni Students with Africa: Ambassador Panel & ASIWA Launch Forum

Students from all 5 WA universities are invited to attend this special free event convened by the UWA Africa Research & Engagement Centre (AfREC), the Organisation of African Communities in WA (OACWA) and the Australian Government, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) as part of national Australia Africa Week 2019.

The event serves concurrently as the Launch Forum of the OACWA-led African Students in WA (ASIWA) University Working Group and as an opportunity for WA university students to engage directly with Australian ambassadors currently serving in Africa. Both African and non-African students are strongly encouraged to participate.

Format:

1.30-2.30pm: Interactive panel discussion between WA university students and several Australian ambassadors currently serving in Africa. Theme: "Australian Diplomacy in Africa: Insights from DFAT Heads of Mission".

2.30-3.30pm: ASIWA University Working Group Launch Forum and interactive panel discussion between WA university students and ASIWA Coordinators. Theme: "Issues Facing African University Students in WA".

3.30-4.30pm: Refreshments and networking.
