Engaging consumers and other stakeholders
Event Information
About this event
Why is engaging consumers and stakeholders important?
Research identifies that when consumers are involved in the design and management of their care provision, the outcomes for them are improved. The Aged Care Quality Standards expect providers to engage with stakeholders.
This is evidenced by the Commission's Results and Guidance Document that includes 15 references to the way providers are expected to engage consumers, the community, and others in relation to Standards 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Engaging consumers in decisions that impact their health, safety, and wellbeing is essential for all providers.
