Energy Market Outlook: Issues & Options for SME’s

Energy price rises have emerged as a critical issue in the last several months for businesses, particularly energy intensive SME’s, many who are struggling to negotiate acceptable contracts and / or identify suitable alternative energy sources.

This FREE workshop will provide an overview of the supply and pricing outlook, with a focus on practical steps that businesses could consider to better manage their energy costs and usage.

Key Learnings

This workshop will cover:

  • Understanding of real drivers of energy pricing, demand and supply

  • Overview of range of energy contracts which may be applicable to SME’s

  • Alternative options for SME’s to consider to mitigate energy costs and usage (with consideration of ROI factors)

  • Useful contacts for potentially assisting SME’s in reviewing or negotiating energy contracts

Examples and practical exercises will be included.

About our Presenters

Tennant Reid is Principal National Adviser, Public Policy at Ai Group. Tennant has strong insights on energy policy issues, and will discuss the pricing, demand and supply outlook as it affects Australian industry.


Ngaire Tranter is the founder of Nitro Solutions, a specialist environmental consultancy that delivers sustainability solutions for business clients.

Ngaire is focused on providing participants with a set of practical tools that can be used to actively address their energy challenges including consideration of alternative energy options.


Paul Gramenz is the founder of Energy Purchasing Specialists, a firm focused on assisting SME’s with practical advice to better manage electricity & gas costs. Paul will provide insights on innovative pricing structures, discuss contractual terms which expose clients to financial risks and advise on how to prepare energy budgets to avoid surprises.
