The final Branch activity for 2014 is a social function at the Barracks Club, located at Victoria Barracks Brisbane (on Petrie Terrace), 5.30 till 7 pm. Arrangements have been made for the responsible service of drinks (pay your own way) to accompany the pizza provided from RAeS funds: accordingly, the event is restricted to RAeS members and bookings have to be made using Eventbrite.
Entertainment will self-generated by those attending in the following format:
Names will be randomly drawn from a hat.
The person selected then has three to five minutes to regale the audience with:
Their best/worst/most enlightening/scary/challenging/amazing/insert your own 'aerospace' moment/anecdote/jokes.
Prizes will be awarded to the 'best' three - 'best' being recognised by audience acclamation, weeping or laughter (bonus if you can achieve all three in your allotted time).
- No props - this is not 'show & tell'.
- Alternative narrative styles - poetry, interpretive mime, song, philosophical discourse - are encouraged.
- Team work is allowed, but limited to five minutes irrespective of number of team members.
- Direct plagiarism of Monty Python, whilst understandable, will require attribution to source, including specifics of Act & Scene from which 'inspiration' was derived.
