About this event

In this ONLINE seminar Michele and Roger will detail two key issues about engaging with people with intellectual disability about the end of life. First, showing how talking with people with intellectual disability about the end of life does no harm, and in fact can be helpful for all. Some examples of how to help individuals understand the end of life will be presented.

Second, the pivotal role of those caring for people with intellectual disability who are dying will be discussed, including current challenges, and skills and training aimed to ensure the needs and wishes of the dying person remain central. The seminar will showcase our recently published book and draw on freely-available case studies, video examples and practical resources.
