Event description
A forum discussing Supported Decision Making in the Aged Care Sector

About this Event

Supported Decision Making can be used as a tool to assist people to participate in making decisions that affect their care and daily life. We are focusing on how the new Aged Care Quality Standards are being implemented in aged care facilities and in community care around Australia.

Potential discussion points could cover:

· Are service providers able to ensure participation in decision making?

· Do the choices that service providers offer respect the culture, diversity, values and beliefs of their clients?

· Do service providers enable their clients to exercise their rights to autonomy, independence and risk-taking?

Based on your experience and expertise we know you would make a valuable contribution to the discussion and we would be grateful for your involvement.

Please be assured the forum will comply with Covid-19 restrictions and the number of people attending in person at the CIT Function Centre will be limited to 70 people
