Australasian Leading Paediatric POCUS Experts!
The Seventh EMUG-NSW Meeting is back in Sydney in the splendid location of the Woollahra Hotel!
The November meeting is going back to our successful weekday schedule and has a selection of sessions which the individual can choose from or hopefully come to as many as possible!
See the current program on www.EMUGs.org for more details of the relevant and cutting edge presentations.
Here is the poster. Please print and post it up in your ED if you can!
A. The EMUG-NSW CLUb Strategy Meeting Two
Building on the momentum and progress made from the first NSW CLUb Meeting in September in the Hunter and the Inaugural Victorian CLUb Meeting on the 10th November in Melbourne.
Guests attendees include members of the ACEM US Sub-committee among other esteemed colleagues and ED Sonographer/POCUS Educators from local and distant centres.
Emergency Ultrasound Clinical Leads/Directors or similar are invited to a round table discussion and roll out of the CLUb Strategy document to help coordinate our disparate hospital sites and move Focused Emergency Ultrasound forward to where it needs to be.
Meeting One covered a) The current state of play, b) Training and what we need to do, c) Credentialing – what needs to be, and what can be done to make things easier.
Numbers are limited and unfortunately we have only space for FACEMs or Senior trainees who are taking a lead in US in their dept as well as our Sonographer Educator colleagues.
Please email ADMINnsw@EMUGs.org directly who is coordinating this meeting if you are interested in attending due to restricted numbers.
B. The Paediatric Afternoon Sessions:
We are delighted and honoured to have Australian leading PEM POCUS experts Dr Adam O'Brien from the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and Dr Robyn Brady from Lady Cilento Hospital in Queensland as our Guest Speakers. Dr O'Brien and Dr Brady are flying to Sydney to lead this brand new Paediatric Emergency Ultrasound Educational extravaganza!
We have a sterling team put together from Sydney Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital Westmead ED physicians also who will be presenting and will talk about the current and future use of ED POCUS for kids.
We will be repeating the very successful and popular 'Clickers and Cases' (Interactive audience Keypad System)
C. The EMUG-NSW Social Dinner for Everyone!
A great chance to meet other Paediatric and ED colleagues and discuss the topics in a relaxed and informal way (things are always better over a glass of wine!)
D. The Paediatric Afternoon Sessions:
The education continues!
As the program shows this will be action packed with relevant and lively talks on a variety of Paediatric topics.
Paediatric non-ED Specialists will be invited also to ensure high level quality and perspectives.
E. Q&A Panel and Forum Discussion
We have gathered a spectrum of Paediatric POCUS experts to novices to accurately reflect our clinician population and we will dive a bit deeper into really, what should an ED physician/trainee be doing with ultrasound in children presenting to our EDs?
We all know the significant time and resource pressures in our departments. This meeting is focused on what can we actually realistically do.. We really are only interested what is high yield for our practice..
Where is the bang for your buck in Emergency Ultrasound in Children?!
Look forward to seeing you there!
Cheers, The EMUG-NSW Team

We aim to target a broad spectum of health professionals. Although our priority is to cater for Emergency Consultants and Trainees we encourage all health staff whom Point of Care ultrasound is relevant to their practice to come along.
