Empowered Lives Workshop – Engaging with MPs for policy outcomes
Event Information
Description
Empowered Lives brings together people with disability, advocates and organisations across the community.
Over 35 organisations so far have signed onto our ten-point policy platform, which outlines the key actions the Victorian Government needs to take to enable greater social and economic participation for people with disability.
The workshop will be co-facilitated by Patrick McGee, from the Australian Federation of Disability Organisations, and well-known advocate and consultant, Margherita Coppolino. Special guest speaker, Ged Kearney MP, Federal Member for Cooper (formerly Batman), will share her advice on effective engagement with politicians and the political process.
Participants will receive resources to support their own efforts and individual follow-up and support from VCOSS and the Empowered Lives Campaign.
This session is open to staff, volunteers, members and participants from Empowered Lives Campaign supporter organisations. Please contact Daniel Scoullar at daniel.scoullar@vcoss.org.au or on 0402 596 297 to discuss supporting the campaign.
