Event description

Description

Breakfast, tea and coffee is included.

We will discuss a number of ongoing sponsorship obligations your business must continue to meet not only throughout each 457 visa holding employee’s tenure, but also during and beyond the life of your business sponsorship. There are also certain events, which trigger an obligation to notify the Immigration within 28 calendar days.

In order to facilitate a better understanding of the ongoing sponsorship obligations, we will study some of the recent Administrative Appeals Tribunal cases on the breach of the sponsorship obligations and discuss practical ways to remain compliant and be able stay bulletproof in an event of audit.

Key takeaways

  • You will understand the following sponsorship ongoing obligations in detail:

  • Cooperate with inspectors;

  • Ensure equivalent terms and conditions of employment;

  • Keep records;

  • Provide information to us when certain events occur;

  • Ensure the primary sponsored person works or participates in the nominated occupation, program or activity

  • Not recover, transfer or take actions that would result in another person paying certain costs;

  • Pay travel costs to enable sponsored persons to leave Australia; and

  • Pay costs incurred by the Commonwealth to locate and remove unlawful non-citizens

If you have any burning questions that require immediate help, you can contact our team of migration lawyers on 1300 144 120 or through our website.
