The Emerging Leaders workshop has been developed as a practical learning opportunity for people in leadership or managerial roles.

About this event

The Emerging Leaders workshop is designed for leaders and managers early in their career of leading with less than 2 years’ experience. The program is focused on building essential knowledge and skills required to effectively lead teams for years to come.

The workshop topics include:

• Define your leadership style

• Identify your values in relation to your organisation

• Examine work habits that negatively impact your workload?

• The perils of feedback and how to do it well

• Learn how to work effective in teams

• The art of responding to conflict

• Next steps to in leadership development

Starting a leadership role with self-awareness and consciousness about how to relate effectively with teams and colleagues can significantly enhance success in any organisation. This coupled with training designed to develop skills in crucial aspects of leadership is an effective strategy to advance your capacity to lead.

The workshop is limited to 20 participants to provide everyone with an opportunity to confidentially talk through work challenges and identify ways you take action and create change. To make the most of this workshop, participants are required to actively engage in a group setting to collectively advance their knowledge and skills.

Who is it for?

People new to leadership or managerial roles required to lead teams. The workshop requires participants to actively engage with the content, participant in group discussions and demonstrate their new abilities in ways that are designed to retain knowledge.

Learning to be an excellent leader is not a one-and-done approach. This workshop is designed to complement existing basic theoretical knowledge about fundamental tasks leaders complete and adds a practical approach which invites participants to find their own style of leadership to build on.

The workshop ticket includes a follow up 30-minute coaching session with Belinda within 7 days of the workshop. The Ebbinhaus Forgetting Curve shows that the greatest loss of new information occurs in the first 7 days. So, taking action and implementing what you learn at the workshop within the hours and days after will significantly improve the value you take from the day.


The workshop is designed and delivered by Belinda Mawhinney Consultancy. Belinda has more than twenty years’ experience working across a range of sectors and industries in leadership roles. Starting her career as a Social Worker, Belinda has continued to pursue further education through universities both in management and research. This, combined with extensive experience working as a leader and consultant equips her with the expertise to facilitate high quality workshops.
