Emerging Business Models in Property

Three experts shed light on our transforming future

What happened to housing? When did it go from being about people, and how and where we live, to an industrialised production line measured on a crane index and interest rates? Do we really need the largest average house size in the world? And why do we see owning a home as an article of faith, while most of the world are happy to share or rent and seem happy?

The good news is we have options - it’s just the best are hiding in plain sight.

Global forces are remaking cities. In the face of this change, innovative business models and collaborative markets are emerging alongside the existing; new technologies are giving us the latest tools to bypass traditional intermediaries. And while markets adapt, public policy is often last to respond. A new synthesis of human centred design, the Internet of things, big data, neuroscience and architecture are bringing a glimmer of hope.

Join us as we explore the property landscape of today at defrost #51.

We’ll hear from three of the industry’s most influential architects; NSW Architects Registrar and Australia by Design TV host, Tim Horton, Urban Apostles founder and Nightingale Housing advisor, Jason Twill, and Woods Bagot Global Leader, Christian Derix.

It’s no longer enough to be an architect. Pioneering planners need to be activists, agitators and researchers at the forefront of built environment transformation.

Avoid disappointment, numbers strictly limited and by invitation only.

RSVP by 17th November 2017.
