EFFECTIVELY MANAGING VOLUNTEERS – May 2020 Volunteer Management Forum 

If your role involves managing volunteers, this workshop is for you!  We will guide you through The Smith Family’s Volunteering Processes, and provide you with tips and tricks in building a relationship with your volunteers to keep them engaged, satisfied and supported by you

 As Australia’s largest national education-oriented charity, The Smith Family support disadvantaged Australian children to participate fully in their education, giving them the best chance at breaking the cycle of disadvantage. At The Smith Family, almost 9000 volunteers support our work with thousands of disadvantaged Australian children and their families. 

The Volunteering Team of The Smith Family offers Volunteer Management Training Suites to support team member to effectively manage volunteers across the organisation. These Training Suites cover a range of topics including:

– Volunteer attraction strategies
– Importance of interviewing
– Providing support and develop opportunities
– Engaging and retaining volunteers
– Finalising volunteer placement, and
– Conducting difficult conversations

Join us and learn new strategies for recruiting, retaining and managing your volunteers.

Our Presenters:  

Mr Reeve Koelmeyer, Volunteer Relationship Coordinator, The Smith Family

Ms Julia Torrisi, Volunteer Relationship Coordinator, The Smith Family

The Volunteer Relationship Coordinators at The Smith Family provide support to Volunteer Managers of up to 9000 volunteers nationally. Within New South Wales alone, Julia and Reeve provide training to approximately 50 Volunteer Managers to ensure that over 2300 volunteers feel engaged, supported, valued and connected during their time at The Smith Family.
