Timing

This meeting is scheduled for networking from 5:00 pm, with the presentation commencing at 5:30 pm.

Synopsis

This seminar will explore Tasmania’s plans to help transition Australia to a cleaner energy future. Representatives from Hydro Tasmania and TasNetworks will update you on progress of Tasmania’s exciting energy development projects - Battery of the Nation and Project Marinus.

  • Outcomes of studies jointly funded by Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and Hydro Tasmania into sites suited to pumped hydro energy storage and the enormous potential of the state to provide reliable, clean, affordable energy to the NEM.
  • TasNetworks’ feasibility and business case assessment ‘Project Marinus’ into a 2nd Bass Strait electrical interconnector (Marinus Link). Project Marinus is funded by the Tasmanian Government through TasNetworks and the Commonwealth through ARENA. In February 2019, $56m in additional commonwealth funding was announced to accelerate long-lead time Design & Approvals phase activities.

FAQ's

What is my member number?

  • Login to the EESA website, and it'll tell you after a successful login. https://www.eesa.org.au/login If you need help with loggin in, follow the prompts and advice with EESA and the contact form if neccessary.

Why is it saying my registration discount code has already been used?

  • You've possibly already activated the discount code, and let the registration process time out. It only works once to avoid people sharing their discount codes, so please contact Tom (email above) for assistance to reactivate your code.

How do I buy tickets for multiple people?

  • Sorry, we don't allow bulk ticket purchases because we'd prefer people to register individually. This way, in case of emergency, we can contact everyone or know who to look for in the event of an evacuation from the building. It also gives the individuals attending the opportunity to remain connected with EESA on EventBrite, which any individual at any stage can unsubscribe from.

Why is my member code not accepted, even though I'm a memeber?

  • Sorry about this, there are few occurrences every presentation where this happens as there can be a small delay before we can see your membership in the database. Please contact Tom (email above) for help with this if required. Hopefully by the next SA Chapter event, your membership status will not only be activated but visible to the SA Chapter organisers creating your discount codes.
  • Be sure to read the above advice on working out what your discount code is very carefully. Thanks!

Do I need to print out my ticket?

  • No, you don't need to, although up to you if you wish to have the details handy, particularly a map if you haven't been to the venue before. For registration on entry, it's easiest if you have the QR barcode handy, either on paper or from your phone (via registration email or the EventBrite app), but we can always simply look up your name on entry. We recommend the EventBrite app (follow links from registration).

Can I pay cash at the door?

  • No, we really do request that you register before the event. As volunteers we appreciate it immensely as it's very streamlined for us to use EventBrite.
