This meeting is scheduled for networking from 5:00pm, with the presentation commencing at 5:30pm.



SYNOPSIS

This seminar, presented by two established Engineers with integral involvements, will provide a comprehensive description of the development of the Hornsdale Power Reserve, It will cover a perspective of working with the SA Government, beginning with the initial project development, and defining the fundamental specifications and requirements. It will cover the management of plans to achieve the objectives, and the process of the project execution. It will then discuss the construction planning, additional challenges presented with the wind farm, the tendering and commissioning phases, and lessons learned,




SPEAKERS

Steve Wilson, Senior Power Generation Engineer, Aurecon

Steve is a senior power generation engineer with experience across a broad range of technologies, including battery energy storage systems, solar PV, CSP, integrated RE and storage solutions as well as conventional thermal generation. Expertise includes in battery and hybrid renewable energy project development and network integration. He was the lead technical advisor to the SA Government for the 100 MW battery project, including in the evaluation of proposals, development of functional specifications and operating protocols, and design, commissioning and testing reviews.


Jennie Gater-Burdeniuk, CPEng, Senior Electrical Engineer, GHD

Jennie is a power industry professional with over 15 years’ experience. She's a Project Manager and Engineer with a particular focus in assisting clients to connect generation projects to the National Electricity Market. Jennie's recent projects, working with French renewable energy developer Neoen, include both the 315 MW Hornsdale Wind Farm, where she managed the Owner’s Engineer team and was responsible for licencing and registration, and the Hornsdale Power Reserve, where she was responsible for coordinating all stakeholders and obtaining the network connection.
