FOR AGES 8-11 YEARS
Join Anna for a fun filled morning of drama games, characterisation and improvisation, and learn what it takes to be an actor. Explore the essential elements of drama (including role and character, voice, movement, focus, tension, and audience) through a range of fun, hands-on activities that bring characters and stories to life.
If you enjoy drama, this workshop is for you! Whether you have some acting experience or are just exploring future career possibilities, this workshop has a little something for everyone.
You'll be moving around so wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
Where to meet: Please meet us outside the USC Art Gallery where parents and guardians will be signing their students in, and out of, eDiscovery.
What to bring: BYO morning tea. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle and a light, healthy snack for morning tea.
COVID-Safe information: Remember to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Hand sanitiser will be provided. If you feel unwell, please do not attend this event.
Educator: Anna McMahon is a working actor, Primary School teacher and Certified Clown Doctor, Anna is no stranger to the arts! She has most recently graduated with The F-ACTOR-Y Acting Studio in Brisbane, participated as a student in the month long intensive training workshop with Shakespeare & Company in Lennox, Massachusetts; and has worked with national and international performance teachers.
Also trained in clowning, Anna works as a Clown Doctor both at The Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.
Anna has been a primary school teacher for 13 years. Her latest experience is teaching Music, Dance and Drama from Prep to Year 6. With over 15 years’ experience in the arts, Anna enjoys working with young actors to develop and nurture their love of this craft!
