Event Information
About this Event
"Angelic and assuring, Rose Parker sings of life experience in all its joy and sorrow. We’re all a little better for it by the end of the performance."Bob Gordon
Formally one half of the Velvet Janes, Rose has toured from Sydney to San Francisco, played many an international festival as well as writing, releasing and producing three eps and three albums.
Oftentimes Rose is accompanied by award-winning David Hyams (guitarist) and Roy Martinez (bassist). During 2017 this team, lovingly crafted an album of 12 songs co-produced with David Hyams on guitar and long time collaborator Roy Martinez on bass with special guests from Lucky Oceans to Mel Robinson and Phoebe Cork.A dreamy sun-drenched 1970s inspired road trip of an album, Under The Same Sun was released in December 2017 to a packed house at The Fly By Night Club, transformed into a bohemian lounge for a night of intimate acoustic alchemy and at the Nannup Music festival in 2018. Rose is currently playing in and around Perth and is working on the new album, The Border Songs, for release 2021.
The Alfalfa Males
Here’s a question for you....
What do goats, gaffa tape, Donald Trump, sloth poop, global warming, and a cross gender chicken called Suzie all have in common?
They are all part of the menagerie of topics put under scrutiny by the Alfalfa Males in their quest to make sense of the world through song!!
Folk duo Tim Darby and Donald Wilson win hearts and engage minds wherever they play with their mix of quirky humour, open hearted intimacy, beautiful vocal harmonies and eclectic musical style.
Their easy banter and authentic stage presence reaches out to embrace the audience in a mingling of stories, humour and lyrical melodies.
Unconstrained by tradition or genre the Alfalfa Males follow their melodious meanderings wherever the mood takes them in the moment.
Oh yeah.....they also play (in order of size but not necessarily importance) bass, guitar, ukulele, a smattering of violin and....if the occasion calls for it....garden shears.
