Ecoburbia House Concert - Jenny Gaunt Trio AND The Alfalfa Males
Event Information
About this Event
Jenny Gaunt is a songwriter and musician whose folk/alternative style has been described as “hauntingly beautiful” but also carries elements of social justice and a slight incredulity. She writes songs with content including but not limited to; people and events from Australian history, feelings and healthy vegetables.
Personal and authentic, mixing the light hearted with the melancholy in a perfect yin and yang, her songs really “get you in the feels”, according to one die-hard fan. With much experience touring Europe, Australia and within the West Australian folk scene, Jenny released hand-fulls of albums with duo The Littlest Fox, all of which well prepared her to step out solo. Writing and recording her own songs has been an act of joy resulting in nomination for WAM’s Song of The Year in 2019.
A multi-instrumentalist, Jenny plays guitar, keys and cello on the new recording. Performing live with talented musicians Ashley Wheeler (double bass) and Emily Verscheur (violin), the Jenny Gaunt trio brings depth and sensitivity to her songs.
She likes being outdoors, under a tree, with a good book (preferably with her dogs).

The Alfalfa Males are multi-instrumental musical group who write, arrange and perform original compositions, mostly social satire, combining a whimsical sense of humour with beautiful vocal harmonies. They take their name from a song (of the same name) written about the contemporary male dilemma of being aware of the social and environmental issues we face.....while at the same time having an aversion to the traditional alpha male's tactics (ie to use money and power to force change on those around them).\
The Alfalfa Males are: Donald Wilson (Bass, guitar and funny interjections whenever a song is getting a bit long or boring). and Tim Darby (Ukulele. guitar and a weird homemade instrument with some of the frets missing)
