Event description

Description

The Rapha Womens 100 is a global event that encourages thousands of women around the world to ride 100km on the 23rd of July! For those who have not participated in this event before, the Rapha 100 is not only a celebration of women’s cycling but also encourages women to improve their health and wellbeing through cycling in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Meeting at 7am on the corner of Bridge Road and Yarra Boulevard the group will roll out at 7:30am, heading along some of Melbourne’s favourite inner-city roads towards Beach Road where we will continue along until we hit Frankston then turning to head back to Richmond.

Based on training rides, it is anticipated that the average pace on the day will be around 22-25km/hr, although conditions on the day and skill level of the group may see this vary. The route also has some small inclines however in general it will be fairly flat with a maximum of 150-200m of elevation.

Please note while there will be the opportunity to stop for a quick re-fuel/stretch we advise you to bring your own essentials including food, water, repair kit, spare inner tube and pump/canister. We will however ensure there is ample coffee and food on hand once we finish to celebrate the day (cafe tbc)!!

It is also recommended that you have ridden at least 55-60km and or be comfortable riding 4-5hours, depending on ability.

The Eastside Peddlers will continue to run a Training Ride each Saturday leading up the the 23rd of July along the planned route, building the distance each week- details can be also found on the Eastsid Peddlers Facebook Page.
