Event description

Description

A family-friendly introductory course in wilderness survival skills, bush crafts, deep nature connection and outdoor confidence with Claire Dunn.

Claire Dunn is a writer, educator, journalist and barefoot explorer. Claire worked for many years as an environmental campaigner with organisations such as The Wilderness Society, before turning her attention to the human-nature connection. In 2010, Claire embarked on a year of bush living, completing the ‘Guunuwa Independent Wilderness Studies Program’. Her recent book My Year Without Matches: Escaping the the City in Search of the Wild is a memoir of that journey. Claire is a passionate advocate for ‘rewilding’ our inner and outer landscapes, and facilitates deep nature connection workshops and rites-of-passage programs for kids and adults.

This workshop will include warm soup and damper for lunch and the possibility for poeple to stay until the evening to participate in fun games around a campfire. Should be great fun!

When we apprentice ourselves to nature, to the wilds both inside and outside of us, we can awaken into our full potential, our senses alive, our visions and passions on fire."
