Event description

Description

Professor Zoe Radnor will present ‘Lean’ in public services: panacea or paradox?' as part of DTF’s quarterly lecture briefing series.

In straitened times, ‘lean’ has become a popular approach to public service reform around the world. Which government wouldn’t enthusiastically embrace a methodology which promises to maintain service productivity, improve utilisation and maintain quality? But Professor Radnor’s extensive research into the theory and implementation of ‘lean’, across a number of sectors, has demonstrated that ‘the house of lean for public services’ needs a completely different approach to architecture, process and culture if it is to yield real benefits.

Professor Radnor will lead us in a thought-provoking discussion on what it would take to really deliver the promised benefits of ‘lean’.
