Event description

Description

We know how critical it is for government to speak the language of users. We also know how hard it can be for comms and content professionals to sell this message in their agencies.

At our first meet-up for 2019 we will be celebrating the outstanding work led by Julie Watkins-Lyall in transforming content on the Department of Human Services public-facing website.

A huge achievement

Julie’s team reviewed 100 payments and services pages and re-wrote more than 140,000 words to meet the needs of users.

The success of the team’s work was recognised last year when the Plain English Foundation awarded the transformed website its highest-ever score and first gold standard.

Come and hear Julie’s story and share your own

The event will include a Q and A with Julie and a short open mic session for attendees to share their successes and challenges in supporting plain English in government.

This is an informal event open to anyone working for government in Australia. It’s a chance to connect to peers, pick up new ideas and be part of government digital transformation.

The event will be held at the DTA’s Canberra office and streamed online. Please select your preference when registering.

We look forward to seeing you there.
