Event description
This two day professional learning program is suitable for primary teachers who are interested in understanding the design thinking process.

About this Event

Design Thinking is one of the best tools we can give our students to ensure they:

• Have creative confidence in their abilities to adapt and respond to new challenges.

• Are able to identify and develop innovative, creative solutions to 21st Century problems they may encounter.

• Develop as optimistic, empathetic and active members of society who can contribute to solving the complex challenges the world faces into the future.

Program Details:

This two day professional learning program is suitable for primary teachers who are interested in understanding in greater depth the design thinking process and applying design thinking in their own learning contexts.

Day 1:

Understand and unpack the Design Theory process, ideation and methodology. Participants will undertake a series of ‘hands on’ workshops incorporating design thinking and hear from a range of experts on how they use design thinking.

Day 2:

Participants will engage in further design thinking workshops; brainstorm year level specific challenges based on the Victorian Curriculum; and develop a unit of work incorporating design thinking.

Learning to think, and learning to think creatively is essential for our students, AND teachers can learn a lot from the way designers think.
