Description

Join Aboriginal artist Arthur Conlon for a pastels art class to draw a native Australian animal as part of National Reconciliation Week celebrations.

Arthur is from the Wakka Wakka/Kullilla people of Cherbourg. One of 14 children and a much larger extended family he started painting at the age of nine, learning from his uncles. Having previously worked as a teacher’s aide and in the Australian army, Arthur is now an artist who teaches school children and adults, paints murals and gives motivational talks.

Four classes will be held on 28 May.

  • Class 1 – Frill-necked Lizard: 8.30 am–10.00 am

  • Class 2 – Turtle: 10.30 am–12.00 pm

  • Class 3 – Kangaroo: 12.30 pm–2.00 pm

  • Class 4 – Platypus: 2.30 pm–4.00 pm
