DRUMBEAT - Discovering Relationships Using Music, Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes and Thoughts

Do you work with people experiencing complex issues that put them at-risk of social isolation and disengagement?

Then the DRUMBEAT Facilitator Training is for you.

Holyoake's DRUMBEAT program is an evidence-based program that combines the power of group drumming with conversations to explore what connects us and build resilience. DRUMBEAT has a 16 year track record of delivering positive results across a range of behavioural and wellbeing outcomes. To learn more about the evidence base, visit our website www.holyoake.org.au/drumbeat.

Want to facilitate this powerful program? Register today!

Over the 3 day experiential workshop, you will:

  • Learn basic hand drumming techniques (no prior experience necessary)
  • Practise program foundations including mastering layered rhythms, facilitating fun drumming games and engaging discussions
  • Explore group facilitation strategies to maintain a safe and inclusive space for all participants
  • Learn how to evaluate your program delivery using an action research approach and report on outcomes

It is a fun, intensive and practical professional development. On completion you will be provisionally accredited to begin delivering the DRUMBEAT program right away.

Do I need to bring anything to the training?

Bring a pen, water bottle and we’ll provide the rest. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing.

Will I be required to participate in all practical activities?

Come prepared to have fun and drum your socks off! This is an experiential, hands-on training, and active participation is encouraged. It's also beneficial to develop your skills and gain experience. Check out our Facebook Page for videos of the training in action!

Can I attend only one or two days of the three day workshop?

You must attend all 3 days and participate in the skills demonstration to gain provisional accreditation to deliver Holyoake’s DRUMBEAT program. If you have a valid reason why you are unable to make all 3 days e.g. sudden illness, family emergency, please send us an email and we can arrange for you to complete the 3 day training program at another time.

Will meals be provided at the training?

Morning tea and lunch are provided each day. We try our best to accommodate special dietary requirements, please check with us if you have concerns.
