Do you work with people experiencing complex issues that put them at-risk of social isolation and disengagement?

Then the DRUMBEAT Facilitator Training is for you.

Holyoake's DRUMBEAT program is an evidence-based program that combines the power of group drumming with conversations to explore what connects us and build resilience. DRUMBEAT has a 16 year track record of delivering positive results across a range of behavioural and wellbeing outcomes. To learn more about the evidence base, visit our website www.holyoake.org.au/drumbeat

Over the 2 day experiential workshop, you will:

What resources are provided at the training?

You will receive a DRUMBEAT Program Manual to take home. A djembe (drum) will also be provided for the training. Once you have completed the full training and gained provisional accreditation you will also receive additional materials and resources to support you in your program delivery.

Do I need to bring anything to the training?

Bring a pen, water bottle and we’ll provide the rest. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing.

Will I be required to participate in all practical activities?

Come prepared to have fun and drum your socks off! This is an experiential, hands-on training, and active participation is encouraged. It's also beneficial to develop your skills and gain experience. Check out our Facebook Page for videos of the training in action!

Can I attend only one day of the two day workshop?

You must attend all two days and participate in the skills demonstration to gain provisional accreditation to deliver Holyoake’s DRUMBEAT program. If you have a valid reason why you are unable to make both days e.g. sudden illness, family emergency, please send us an email and we can arrange for you to complete the 2 day training program at another time.

Will meals be provided at the training?

Morning tea and lunch are provided each day. We try our best to accommodate special dietary requirements, please check with us if you have concerns.

What payment options do you offer?

You may choose to pay as an individual or as a business. When registering you will have the option to pay online by credit card OR pay later by invoice. If you select ‘Pay by invoice’, you may pay by EFT or by credit card over the phone. You will receive a tax invoice as an attachment with the confirmation email. Payment must be made in full prior to the start of the training – please reference the invoice number.

Is there a minimum number of people per workshop?

Generally workshops with less than 12 people registered will be cancelled two weeks before the training start date. Registered attendees will be contacted by email and have the option to rebook at another workshop or get a full refund.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that unforeseen events may occur that prevent you from attending and we try to be as flexible as possible. If you are unable to attend after registering for a training you must notify us in writing. You may transfer your registration to another training in the following 12 months or to another colleague to attend in your place. Refunds will not be given for ‘No Shows’, including being unable to attend due to illness, personal or work issues. Please contact us via email drumbeatservices@holyoake.org.au.

Holyoake reserves the right to:

  • Cancel or change the scheduled dates for any training where minimum registration numbers are not reached

We believe in the power of rhythm to change lives. We train professionals who work with groups of people to deliver the DRUMBEAT program, to ultimately empower their clients to experience positive change in their lives. Since 2003 the DRUMBEAT program has consistently delivered significant social impact across a range of metrics such as psychological well-being and behavioral change. It’s this strong evidence base that ensures that organizations across sectors such as community services, education, health, and justice; working with cohorts from early childhood, youth, adult and aged care continue to use DRUMBEAT as part of their program delivery.
