Event description

Description

Leadership and the People we engage with are the foundation of any organisation. Whether a sole trader or leading a cast of thousands, many of us lead, manage and connect to others according to who we are, not realising that our style may be hampering our leadership effectiveness and the influencing of others.

The material presented at this workshop will dig deep into social and leadership styles. There will be a mix of content along with time for learning integration and will cater for both those on their own and those business owners who bring their management team and other key personnel. Seating is limited to 54 so it would be wise to book immediately.

The main topics covered will be:

Adaptive Leadership and Producing Optimal Performance in our Teams
Adapting to those we lead. How to use the best leadership style to bring the best out in others and drive performance and productivity.
Adaptive Connection
Whether in sales, networking, dealing with suppliers or leading your team, learn the power of respect and the subsequent behavioural shifting to deepen trust and connection to gain win-win outcomes.
When Home Comes to Work
Everyone brings their personal life to work; it’s just how we deal with it as Leaders that brings the best out of people.
The Law. Helping People Move Up or Out
Where a team member is failing in their responsibilities and expectations, we can lead them to the point of satisfactory performance. When these attempts fail it ultimately means leading them to the front door. This session will provide you with the current state laws governing performance management and dismissal.
The Leadership Panel
This will be your chance to hear from and ask questions of four local business owners who lead businesses of 30+ personnel. Ray will also be directing questions at them related to their leadership styles, what they have found to be effective in people management and general business growth considerations. The panel is as follows:

  • Paul Williams – Director: Comace Pty Ltd and Chair of Australian Subcontractors Association
  • Andrew Marshall AM – Managing Director: Marshall & Brougham Constructions Pty Ltd and Deputy President Master Builders Association of South Australia and Board Member TAFE SA
  • Patrick Innes – Director: Niramar Pty Ltd; NECA member and Council Member of Master Builders SA.
