Driven cinema: Sorcerer

By State Library of Queensland

Overview

Join us this summer in celebrating the opening of Driven exhibition in slq Gallery with a curated selection of iconic car films.

Based on Henri-Georges Clouzot’s 1953 film The Wages of Fear, Sorcerer is a white-knuckle journey into vehicular tension, following the mission of four desperate men to transporting an unstable shipment of Nitroglycerine through the treacherous terrain of South American jungle — and into the very heart of darkness. Directed by maestro William Friedkin, this long overlooked masterpiece is a big-screen immersive experience not to be missed.
