Dream and design a Serpent in clay
Overview
Create your own Rainbow Serpent and learn about stories of Country that connect us all.
Guided by artist Tahlia Undarlegt, participants will learn how to imagine, design, and hand-build their own Rainbow Serpent using air-dry clay. Start by brainstorming and sketching ideas, then bring them to life through simple clay techniques. Each child will create a serpent sculpture to take home, no kiln required! Once dry, pieces can be painted and decorated at home for any additional touches.
As you create, learn about the significance of the Rainbow Serpent in First Nations cultures as a giver of life and protector of waterways, and explore indigenous language connections. This workshop is designed to be inclusive, respectful, and fun for all skill levels.
