Event description

Description

This event is open to APS staff

Creating widespread behavioural change across groups of people within the Australian community can be important for many reasons. What is sometimes overlooked is the importance of understanding psychology and the drivers of human behaviour in order to ‘make change happen’. Drawing on the learnings from a large scale behaviour change project focussed on protecting the Great Barrier Reef, this output-focussed presentation explores the key considerations in creating the right conditions for change to occur. Three specific issues will be addressed:

  1. Understanding the psychology of change (and why we often get it wrong)
  2. How to go about designing a behaviour change program that works for whole populations of people
  3. Creating the right conditions for change to happen
