Come and learn about worm farming and different composting techniques from Millen Farm's own farmer Arran who knows how it's done!

About this Event

Overview

Worms, compost and compost teas are drivers of soil fertility. They recycle your waste and save you money by reducing the need for other fertilisers.

This workshop will show you how to set up a worm farm and other compost systems; give you tips and tricks to solve regular problems and help work out which systems best suits your needs.

Why attend this workshop?

In this workshop you will learn how to recycle your food waste to create worm farms and wonderful rich compost using a number of methods of composting. The workshop includes practical demonstrations of worm farms and compost systems using freely obtainable resources. Come and learn from Millen’s own farmer Arran who is putting everything into practice to grow fantastic fresh food for your table!

Parking on site – entry via tennis/netball clubs and parking near Archery club may be required due to construction works, please look for signage.

The majority of the workshop will be held undercover however it will include periods out on the farm.

What you need to bring

• Hat, sunscreen and water bottle – tap on site if required

• Paper/pen if you are an avid note taker

• Closed in shoes

• Hard copies of tickets not required

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No.

What is the refund policy?

Sometimes circumstances change and we understand that occasionally you may not be able to attend a workshop you have paid for, so unless other information has been specified on the individual workshop page and as long as we’re notified 7 days before the workshop starts, your options are:

• to receive a full refund of your course fee if we can find someone to take your place from our waitlist

• to transfer your amount paid toward any future course

• to transfer your ticket to a friend or relative

What does the waitlist do?

If the workshop sells out you can add your details to the event waitlist. In the event of a cancellation, we will look at our waitlist for the next in line. We will also use this to notify you of when/if this workshop will be held again, so please register your interest in advance.
