Double Whammy Masterclass – Co-occurring Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs

Workers who are innovative and responsive to ever-changing best practice standards do better quality work and last longer! Seize this opportunity to take your already established skills and knowledge to the next level. 

This workshop, facilitated by the Centre for Community Welfare Training (NSW), will utilise peer teaching & learning, and a range of activities crafted to hone your ability to respond to complexity. While the focus is on clients living with co-occurring mental health and AOD issues, it draws on a holistic, strengths-based approach. Learning is enhanced by incorporating reflection, theories and approaches, skills development and current best practices.

 You will have the opportunity to:

* Assess the diverse impacts of co-occurring disorders

* Develop strategies to provide comprehensive, individualised services and support

* Reflect on your own practice and development as a worker

* Construct innovative responses to complexity

 Who should attend?

Experienced workers, managers and supervisors who provide services to clients with these co-occurring disorder.

Who We Are And What We Do

The ATDC is the peak body representing the interests of the community service organisations that provide services to people with substance misuse issues in Tasmania. The ATDC has a key role in advocating for adequate resources for the delivery of evidence-based alcohol, tobacco and other drug initiatives. In this regard, the ATDC represents the interests of a broad range of service providers and individuals concerned with prevention, early intervention, treatment and supply reduction and research.


Our Vision

A Tasmanian community in which health and well-being are promoted and alcohol, tobacco and other drug harm is prevented or substantially reduced.


Our Mission

To provide leadership, strengthen the capacity of, and promote the interests of non-government, not-for-profit organisations to affect positive outcomes for all people affected by the misuse of alcohol, tobacco and/or other drugs.
