Event Details

A spin on the classic obedience class, we teach obedience skills like sit, stay, come, loose leash walking and lots more, but we also play lots of games and learn fun tricks. Class time flies by as you heel through obstacle courses, practice stay while playing musical chairs, and learn a new trick each week!

We put the emphasis on having fun while training because dogs and humans learn better when they're enjoying themselves. It's also important that your dog sees you as someone who's fun to be with, because that makes you worth listening to! Playing games teaches valuable skills like how to gain your dog's attention, communicate clearly, and deal with mistakes, while learning tricks teaches you how to read your dog, lets you learn new training techniques, and makes "work" fun, all skills that can be applied to further training and everyday life.

The activities in this class are suitable for all experience levels and can be modified to make them more or less difficult, depending on your level of training.

This class is run by Sirius Dog Training.

Limit of 6 dogs per class.

Cost: Drop-in classes are $23 each, or purchase the 6-week session for $120.

What to bring to class:

  • Flat buckle collar and leash. No choke chains or retractable leashes.
  • For your first class, please bring a copy (or a photo on your phone) of your dog's current vaccination certificate.
  • Treats! Bite-sized to reward your dog as we train.
  • Do not feed your dog for at least 2 hours before class. Exercising on a full stomach can be dangerous for dogs and can lead to bloat or torsion.

Meeting Point:

East side of Musgrave Pond, in the bottom right corner of the map below.
