Staff, managers and coordinators working in Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)/Disability funded services are highly encouraged to attend.
About the facilitators
Glen Sorensen, Managing Director and Principal Consultant of Age Communications has been working in the human services field in Australia since graduating from the University of NSW with a B. Sc (Psych) Hons. He also holds a GDE from Hawkesbury Agricultural College and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment. Glen is a trained Future Search Conference facilitator and is authorised to implement the MASK-ED™ (KRS Simulation) technique in his training programs
Before establishing Age Communications, he worked in the Neighbourhood Centre movement in NSW and the community care sector in Western Australia. While working as an academic in WA, he designed, coordinated and lectured in the first specialist undergraduate course in ageing in Australia. After returning to Sydney, he lectured at TAFE and the then Macarthur Institute of Higher Education. He also worked extensively with nursing home residents. This culminated in the 1987 publication, I'm No Chicken, a book of their recollections and poems.
Since 1988, Glen has focussed on developing and managing his company, Age Communications and its multiple projects. He is an experienced and accomplished facilitator, trainer, writer and researcher whose clients keep returning for more. Check other pages of this website for examples of clients and projects.
Glen is the author of When I'm 64, Millennium Books and Options for the Ageing: the complete guide to support and care of older people, Simon and Schuster. He is also the presenter of the MDS Training DVD which can be viewed on the website of Ageing, Disability and Home Care, NSW Department of Family and Community Services.
