Event description
Come join us this National Regenerative Agriculture Day as farmers and foodies hijack Valentine's Day.

About this Event

Come hijack Valentine's Day with us!

Join farmers and foodies, veterinarians and journalists, permaculture experts and change-makers to talk about how we can, and how we already are, transitioning to regenerative agriculture.

Taste test chocolate that has been grown using conventional vs regenerative agriculture farming practices. Then get involved in the panel discussion around "What does chocolate have to do with taking carbon out of the air and getting it into the soil?"

Enjoy delicious breakfast and morning tea made by Three Blue Ducks, located on The Farm Byron Bay.

And meet some amazing people who are all keen to find a better way to regenerate our soils, our land, our farming practices, and our communities. Let the urban and rural meet, engage and inspire.

Join us for the formal launch of National Regenerative Agriculture Day and CARBON8 over a very chocolatey breakfast conversation.

Our speakers are:

  • Charlie Arnott - Regenerative agriculture farmer, Byron Bay NSW
  • Geoff Lawton - Permaculture legend, UK
  • Robert Pekin - (Food Connect) - advocate for fair food systems, Brisbane Qld
  • Jody Brown - Regenerative agriculture farmer, Longreach Qld
  • Helen & Mike McCosker (What Would Love Do Now) - regenerative agriculture farmers, Inverell NSW
  • Rhea Abraham (ABC Journalist)
  • Gundi Rhoades - rural veterinarian, Inverell NSW
  • Rural and urban kids speaking about what it means to live on a farm and meet their pen pals from Byron Bay (part of the Pen Pal program for Friend a Farmer Australia).

The most meaningful way to start your Valentine's in 2019. Forget the carbon diamond ring! This year it's all about carbon in the soil!
