Event description
SIOPA proudly presents the debate: Do organisational psychologists add more value as internals or externals?

About this Event

The Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology Australia is proud to present our upcoming CPD event :

JOIN US FOR A GREAT DEBATE....

Do industrial and organisational psychologists add more or less value as internals or externals?

What’s it all about?

Our purpose as Industrial and Organisational Psychologists may be shared but our impact is varied. Since our professional inception, we have as IO Psychologists aspired to make the greatest impact to individuals, teams and organisations as a whole. As we’ve strived for positive impact, an eternal and incessant question is whether we are best positioned to add value by working within the organisations we serve, or from outside? As an internal, is our immersion a strategic advantage or a professional compromise? As an external, is our independence a lift to our credibility or a drag on our capacity to sustain meaningful change?

Join Jon Wilson and Barry Bloch for an exciting, energetic and challenging debate. With over 50 years of combined professional practice these two “old hands” of IO Psychology will go head to head debating this fundamental topic, sharing their best insights, experiences and learnings whilst also inviting you to participate and play an active and enjoyable role in seeking answers to this inimitable professional dilemma. When we come together and search for answers, our profession of IO Psych is bound to be the winner!

For those in Perth please stay on after the great debate for a drink and a snack as we continue the discussion. For those who are over east, please do join us virtually to contribute and participate fully in the debate.

We look forward to the final SIOPA event of this extraordinary year and hope to see as many of you there are possible.
