DLF Research Series: A story of systematic reviews in educational research
Event Information
Description
From a methodological perspective, Suri and Clarke (2009) have traced the advancements in methods of educational research reviews to the following six subsets of literature with several overlaps:
- statistical research syntheses
- systematic reviews
- qualitative research syntheses
- qualitative syntheses of qualitative and quantitative research
- critical impetus in reviewing research and critiques
- taxonomies and exemplars of educational research reviews
This seminar will provide an overview of how each of these subsets has contributed to advancing methods of educational research reviews. This will be followed by a critical commentary on its overall implications for research reviews in education. The presentation will conclude by identifying some transcendental trends in the methods of educational research reviews.
