Danny King Legal welcomes Malcolm Heath of Lawcover and Greg Johnson of PG Hely Chambers to present on the more challenging ethical and practice management issues encountered in the legal profession. Use the evening to engage with our expert speakers and draw upon their wealth of experience all while obtaining your compulsory CPD points before the CPD year end.
Join us at our conveniently located Sydney CBD offices from 4.00PM for a 4.45PM kick-off. You can expect presentations to be completed by 7.00PM but the drinks will continue to flow into the evening and we encourage you to stick around and network. We have a relaxed arrival policy so don't feel like you've missed the event if you can't make it by 4.00PM.
Tickets are free and the event is fully catered.

Topic 1: Common Ethical Issues: Conflicts, Clients and the Underbelly of the Legal Profession
Speaker: Greg Johnson, Barrister, PG Hely Chambers
1 CPD Point: Ethics & Professional Responsibility
Greg Johnson was admitted as a barrister in 2013 and practises in the areas of migration, administrative, employment and industrial, discrimination and commercial law. Prior to being called to the bar, Greg worked as a solicitor at DLA Phillips Fox (now DLA Piper) and Harmers Workplace Lawyers. From 2011 to 2012, Greg was a member of the Law Society of NSW Professional Conduct Committee. Greg has also been a member of the Australian Young Lawyers Committee, Law Council of Australia, director of the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation and president of NSW Young Lawyers. With the experience and knowledge Greg has gained over the course of his career, we are in good hands to be guided through the mine field of ethical legal issues encountered by legal practitioners.
Topic 2: Practice Management and Preventing Professional Negligence Claims

- Safeguarding against mistakes, errors and omissions
- Business planning essentials: the connection between profitability, cash flow and risk management.

1 CPD Point: Practice Management & Business Skills
Malcolm was appointed Legal Risk Manager in August 2012. In this role, he conducts practice management risk reviews of law practices involving onsite visits and interviews with practice principals, employed solicitors and senior staff. Malcolm promotes risk management strategies through the Lawcover Risk Management Education Program workshops for principals, on-site at law practices’ seminars and retreats, at the compulsory professional development courses of The Law Society of NSW, Regional Law Societies’ CLE and other means. He also presents Lawcover’s Short Minutes videos. Prior to joining Lawcover, Malcolm ran his own company for 20 years which researched and produced training programs and he consulted to the general insurance industry and the legal profession.
