Event description

Description

On behalf of the Faculty of Business and Law we welcome you to attend our fifth annual Distinguished International Visiting Academic (DIVA) Dinner on the 25th October. This annual event is a major initiative within the Faculty as it provides a forum for local business leaders and academics to come together to discuss a leading issue.

This year the Faculty is pleased to welcome Professor Michael Bradbury, Professor of Accounting at Massey University, New Zealand. His research interests are in the area of corporate financial reporting financial analysis and governance. He is currently an associate editor of the Australian Journal of Management and is on the editorial board of several other journals. His consulting activities include litigation support for business valuations and accounting opinions.

Prior to his academia he was a chartered accountant with a large accounting firm in Auckland and London. He is actively involved in professional accounting activities. He served on the Financial Reporting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand (for ten years); the Financial Instruments International Joint Working Group of Standard Setters; IFRIC and the International Financial Reporting Standards Advisory Council. He is currently a member of the XRB.

His talk is titled "Academic Research, Standard Setting and Practice".

We hope you can join us for a stimulating discussion over dinner and take this opportunity to meet Professor Bradbury and connect with Academic staff from the Faculty of Business and Law.
