With a panel of distinguished nursing academics, we invite you to explore and reflect on the theme for this year's International Nurses Day – ‘a voice to lead: a vision for future healthcare'.

The discussion and Q & A will be led by Professor Donna Waters, Acting Head of School and Dean, Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney.

Our panellists are:

Professor Robyn Gallagher

Professor of Nursing Robyn Gallagher’s clinical and academic career focuses on understanding and supporting patients who have cardiovascular disease engage in secondary prevention behaviours to reduce their risk of future cardiovascular events. She leads intervention programs that use technology such as mobile apps and wearable trackers to support behaviour change in cardiac patients and has extensive experience in establishing multidisciplinary research teams.

Professor Yun-Hee Jeon

The Susan and Isaac Wakil Professor of Healthy Ageing, Professor Yun-Hee Jeon is a registered nurse, academic and leading Australian researcher in psychogeriatrics and gerontology. Her research focuses on developing innovative and creative approaches to improving the health and wellbeing of older people, in particular people living with dementia. She works in partnership with community, industry and policy stakeholders and also a leading advocate for public involvement in research and citizen science.

Professor Kathryn White

Professor of Cancer Nursing Kate White has worked in clinical, education and research areas specialising in cancer and palliative care throughout her career. Her major research interests are in areas of supportive care in cancer and palliative care, psychosocial and quality of life issues in cancer, the translation of research evidence into clinical cancer nursing practice and models of care with an emphasis in rural health.
