Event description

Description

Presenter: Tara Moss - Author, documentary presenter & producer, human rights advocate

Facilitator: Sisonke Msimang - Writer

In an era of cyber hate, anti-feminist 'men's rights activism' and Trump, speaking your mind can feel like a dangerous proposition. Author and human rights advocate Tara Moss talks about how long-standing stereotypes and power structures, combined with abuse of new technologies, continue to limit the amplification of women's voices and participation in public life. How do we continue to speak out and maintain energy and optimism in an age of ongoing inequalities, cyberbullying and sexism?

Following the keynote presentation, attendees are invited to join Tara Moss in the First Edition Cafe and Bar for a book signing. Bring your copy or purchase Speaking Out or The Fictional Woman at the event.
