Discovering Commonwealth Built Heritage in South Australia
Event Information
Description
As part of the History Festival’s Open Doors weekend, learn how to find plans, photographs and heritage reports with this introduction to using archival sources for research.
This seminar has been written with heritage and architectural professionals in mind but would suit anyone wanting to find records at the National Archives relating to South Australia’s built heritage. Drawing from records created by the Commonwealth Department of Works, Australia Post, Australian National Railways and others, we will discuss records from the colonial period to the 1990s. You will also get an opportunity to see some interesting items in the custody of the National Archives.
