Central Coast Council are really excited to work with our amazing music community again in 2020 and span across to 2021 to deliver opportunities for young people.

Discovered is a vocal contest & professional development program for singers aged 7-24yrs ( who live, work or study on the Central Coast). The professional development program sits under the Creative Engineers project that recently was awarded a Highly Commended award at the 2019 NSW Local Government Excellence Awards.
Discovered is a vocal professional development program series comprised of a contest and a professional development program.
With two categories of entry:
- KIDS: 7-12 years
- OPENS: 13-24 years
Singers may enter as a solo and /or a duet act.
All participants are invited to participate in free professional development workshops.
A limited number of participants receive an invitation to return to the semi-finals, and have a chance to perform in the Grand Final in December.

DISCOVERED ONLINE
With the recent impact of the global pandemic of COVID-19, the Discovered program will be delivered both online and face to face.
Showcase performances(heats), judging events and a selection of professional development workshops will be delivered online.
ONLINE COMPETITION DELIVERY( Videos uploaded onto YouTube*):
- Heat one (1): 26 Oct – 30 Oct, 2020
- Heat two (2) 14 Dec – 18 Dec, 2020
- Heat three (3) 15 Feb – 19 Feb, 2021.

Judging Panel 4pm SUNDAYS ( ZOOM event):
- Heat one (1): Sun 01 Nov. 2020
- Heat two (2): Sun 20 Dec. 2020
- Heat three (3): Sun 21 Feb. 2021.
>The judging panel events will be held from 4pm the Sunday immediately following the respective heat, via the online platform ZOOM;to provide feedback and announce semi-finalist recipients.
>An event link will be provided to attendees (competition entrants and registered audience members).
>Twelve (12) places available for each semi-final;
Two (2) of which are selected ONLINE via audience WILDCARD voting.
Audience WILDCARD Round One:
Open from 12pm MON 22 February 2021
Close on 11.59pm Sunday 28 February 2021.
WILDCARDS will be notified via email. WILDCARDS must confirm their place within 48hrs, or their place will be passed onto the Entrant with the following highest vote.
Semi-Final WILDCARDS will be announced publicly the Wednesdays prior to the events, respectively 10 March and 24 April,2021.
Following strict adherence to Government regulations and restrictions the semi and grand final events will be held at:
The Hub Erina Youth Entertainment Venue, North South Rd, Erina Fair.
