The Diploma of Leadership and Management

Welcome to the Business Leader course designed to train new, and enhance the skills of, experienced Business Leaders and Managers including Directors, Executive Managers, Middle Managers, Supervisors, Entrepreneurs and aspiring leaders in all sectors.

This education program is aligned to the Nationally-recognized training program BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management which is available as a full 6-day training program or an on-line, self-paced, e-Learning program. Completing either of these modalities together with the required assessments will allow you to achieve the Diploma level qualification.

The 6-day training program in the BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management is delivered in two blocks of 3-days. Part 1 and Part 2.

Part 1 covers the following Units of Competency:

  • BSBWOR501 Manage Personal Work Priorities and Professional Development
  • BSBHRM405 Support the recruitment, selection and induction of staff
  • BSBLDR502 Lead and manage effective workplace relationships
  • BSBWOR502 Lead and manage team effectiveness
  • BSBLDR501 Develop and use emotional intelligence
  • BSBMGT517 Manage operational plan

Part 2 covers the following Units of Competency and can be taken in the subsequent 3-day Workshop or using the fully online e-Learning program:

  • BSBFIM501 Manage budgets and financial plans
  • BSBRSK501 Manage risk
  • BSBADM502 Manage meetings
  • BSBCUS501 Manage quality customer service
  • BSBSLS502 Lead and manage a sales team
  • BSBSUS501 Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability

Your Facilitators:

Dr Helen Armstrong. Helen is a practicing professional in the field of risk management who has, like all BEI facilitators, extensive experience in both industry and academia. Helen is an international author whose experience embraces the areas of risk and governance, leadership and management, organisation behaviour, strategic planning and project management. Helen has worked with a variety of organisations including IBM (Sydney), Western Australian Police (Perth), West Point Military Academy (New York) and Curtin University of Technology (Perth).

Dr Ian Rouse. Ian has significant leadership and management experience in industry, government and private practice and has held numerous senior management roles in Government and Universities in Australia and overseas. He has significant practical experience in leadership and management, organisation behaviour, strategic and operational planning and project management.

Teaching methods: Presentations, case studies and practical hands-on sessions.
